I facilitate and DJ conscious and ecstatic dance events. Creating spaces where the music and the body lead. I build sets that move through the full arc of human experience, from ground and stillness into release, connection, and integration.
With my background as a professional classical composer and singer for two decades, my sound is as eclectic as it is deep. Driven, emotional, and unafraid of the shadows. Not ambient. Not tribal cliché. Something that serves really being moved, not just moving.
I was dancing and attending conscious events for years before I started DJing them, which means I know what a field needs from the inside, as a dancer.
Dance Workshops

Polyphonic Contact Dance is a practice that brings together the exploration and deep discovery of an almost unknown type of music, contact improvisation, free movement, and sensuality. It is an invitation to the listen to the body, to others, to the field, and to let movement arise from Aliveness.
It's not a technique to learn. It's a practice to arrive in. Suitable for all levels, no dance background needed, only curiosity and a willingness to be really present.

Workshop sessions of 90-120 minutes, integrated into a festival program. Can run as a morning practice, pre-dance warm-up, or standalone offering. Combines very naturally with an Ecstatic Dance set (total runtime: 180 min)

da salmastra is the DJ project of Joachim Brackx - a Belgian facilitator and teacher based in Sofia, Bulgaria. His sets are built for the arc of conscious dance: grounded, emotional, and driven, drawing from his decades of experience as a professional musician. He has DJed at ecstatic dance events across Europe and Asia and brings both a dancer's instinct and a facilitator's awareness to the floor.
da salmastra is part of a wider practice that includes somatic workshops, retreats, and Polyphonic Contact Dance, meaning he understands the full context of the events he plays for.
